Panthers' Edwards ready to bounce back

A week after turning in the worst performance of his NRL career, Penrith fullback Dylan Edwards isn't exactly expecting an air raid from the Wests Tigers on Friday night. Edwards committed a career-high six errors in last week's Melbourne thumping in Bathurst, two of which led directly to tries either side of halftime. "The high balls were alright. It was the grubbers that I missed," Edwards explained. The second try shot the confidence of the Panthers side so bad, club boss Phil Gould said it was the least amount of fight he'd seen from them in years. "It was definitely one of my toughest nights personally," he said. "There were a few errors on my part, a few costly ones... the ones that led to tries were the hardest pills to take." A torrential downpour before the game and consistent rain during it made for difficult handling conditions, but Edwards did not use the elements as an excuse. Nor did he think he needed more time to get match fit after missing almost all of last season due to a shoulder reconstruction.
